Dimbil Petroleum
Dimbil Petroleum was a leading fuel supplier to Mogadishu and its neighboring provinces since early nineties following the collapse of the Somali government. Our customers included AMISOM and other retailers nationwide. As the country fall deeper into civil war and anarchy importing and supplying fuel to our customers became even harder and riskier due to lack of security and even fear of losing lives and property. Fuel storage tanks were destroyed and our capability to store fuel was demolished, vessels had to be guarded constantly while unloading fuel which required longer than usual time even weeks at times.
Dimbil Petroleum was able to overcome this dilemma by moving away from Mogadishu as our main distribution center to Marka, a relatively safer and smaller coastal city about fifty kilometers from Mogadishu. Dimbil Petroleum built its own storage facility in order to ensure smooth unloading and distribution to our various customers. As the country further plunged into turmoil and as warlords became increasingly territorial we had no choice but to discontinue supplying fuel all together in 2002.
Finally, today we are hopeful more than ever and are planning to re-launch in full force with a new innovative ways of supplying fuel to our customers, including building a new state-of-the-art facilities and gas stations for safer, smarter and environmentally sound distribution centers.
